【摘要】:Appliestoswingingdoorassemblies,includingdoorframeswithlightsandpanels,ofvariousmaterialsandtypesofconstructionforuseinwallopeningstoretardthepassageoffire.Themethoddoesnotprovideanevaluationofaswingingdoorassemblywhenthatassemblyispartofalargerassembly(e.g.slidingfiredoorassembly),orwhenitisintendedtobeusedasanelevatorentrance.Testsmadeinconformitywiththesetestmethodsareintendedtoregisterperformanceduringthetestexposure;butsuchtestsshallnotbeconstruedasdeterminingsuitabilityforuseafterexposuretofire.Itistheintentthattestsmadeinconformitywiththesetestmethodsallowforthedevelopmentofdatatoenableregulatorybodiestodeterminethesuitabilityofdoorassembliesforuseinlocationswherefireresistanceofaspecifieddurationisrequired.Thesemethodsareintendedtoevaluatetheabilityofadoorassemblytoremaininanopeningduringapredeterminedtestexposure.Thetestsexposeaspecimentoastandardfireexposurecontrolledtoachievespecifiedtemperaturesthroughoutaspecifiedtimeperiod,followedbytheapplicationofaspecifiedstandardfirehosestream.Theexposure,however,isnotrepresentativeofallfireconditions,whichvarywithchangesintheamount,nature,anddistributionoffireloading,ventilation,compartmentsizeandconfiguration,andheatsinkcharacteristicsofthecompartment.Itdoes,however,providearelativemeasureoffireperformanceofdoorassembliesunderthesespecifiedfireexposureconditions.Anyvariationfromtheconstructionorconditionsthataretestediscapableofsubstantiallychangingtheperformancecharacteristicsoftheassembly.Thisstandardwaslistedforpublicreviewinthe7/17/1998issueofStandardsAction.Itisbeingresubmittedduetosubstantivechangestothetext.(seetextfor30-dayPRinemailsent1/11/2001)

【摘要】:Mercuryisatoxicmaterialandisalsodeleteriousifpresentincausticsodaandcausticpotashusedincertainmanufacturingprocesses.Itmustthereforebecontrolledasapossiblepollutant.Thesetestmethodsprovideaprocedureformeasuringmercuryinliquidandsolidcausticsodaandcausticpotash.1.1Thesetestmethodscovertheroutinedeterminationofmercuryincausticsodaandcausticpotashliquorsandanhydrouscausticsodainthesolid,flake,ground,andbeadformbytheflamelessatomicabsorptionmethod.1.2Twotestmethodsaredescribedasfollows:TestMethodAemploysadirectanalysisofthesampleusinganalkalinereducingagentwithalowerlimitofdetectionof0.1ppb(ng/g).TestMethodAwasdevelopedusingcausticsodaandcausticpotash.TestMethodBrequiresapreliminaryneutralizationofthesamplefollowedbyapermanganateoxidationbeforeitcanbeanalyzedbyanacidicreducingagentwithalowerlimitofdetectionofthistestmethodof0.01ppm(g/g).TestMethodBwasdevelopedusingcausticsoda.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardsstatementsaregiveninSection7and17.1.5Reviewthecurrentmaterialsafetydatasheets(MSDS)fordetailedinformationconcerningtoxicity,first-aidprocedures,andsafetyprecautions.
