【摘要】:Animportantfactoraffectingtheperformanceofmanymembraneroofingsystemsistheirabilitytoresiststaticpunctureloads.Thistestmethodprovidesameansforassessingstaticpunctureresistance.Thistestmethodcanbeusedtocomparethepunctureresistanceofasingletypeofmembraneasafunctionofavarietyofinsulationsubstratesor,conversely,tocomparetheresistanceofanumberofmembranespecimenssetonasingletypeofinsulation.Theeffectoftemperatureonpunctureresistancecanbestudiedbyconductingthetestundercontrolledconditionsusingsuchequipmentasanenvironmentalchamber,oven,orfreezer.Thistestmethodcanbeusefulfordevelopingperformancecriteriaformembraneroofingsystems.Thistestmethodcanbeusefulfordevelopingclassificationsofthestaticpunctureresistanceofmembraneroofingsystems.Whileitisconsideredthattheresultsobtainedbythislaboratorytestcanaffordameasureofthestaticpunctureresistanceofmembraneroofingsystemsinthefieldprovidedthatserviceloadsandtemperatureconditionsareknown,nodirectcorrelationhasyetbeenestablished.1.1Thistestmethodcoversevaluationofthemaximumstaticpunctureloadthatroofingmembranesamplescanwithstandwithoutallowingthepassageofwater.1.2Thislaboratorytestisconductedatanydesiredtemperatureusingsheetmembranesamplesmanufacturedinafactoryorpreparedinalaboratory.1.3Roofmembranespecimenstowhichthetestmethodisapplicableincludebituminousbuiltup,polymer-modifiedbitumens,vulcanizedrubbers,non-vulcanizedpolymeric,andthermoplasticmaterials.1.4Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletoaggregate-surfacedmembranespecimens,butitisapplicabletospecimenshavingfactory-appliedgranules.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
