【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesasimplequantitativemeasureofwaterabsorptionbycoatedcompositewoodproducts.Althoughprimarilyusedtoevaluatefactory-primedcompositewoodproducts,thistestmethodmaybeofserviceforotherwoodsubstratesandcoatingsystems.Thistestmethodhasdemonstratedutilityforcompositewoodsidingproductsranginginthicknessfromapproximately6.35to25.4mm(x00BC;to1in.).Extensionofthistestmethodtowoodsubstratesofothertypesandthicknessmaybeuseful.Conditioningofsubstrate,coatedsamplepreparation,applicationmethod,dryfilmthickness,cureconditions,andnumberofreplicatespecimensshouldbeagreeduponbetweenthepurchaserandthesupplierofthecoatingmaterial.Suchmeasurementsareusedasindicatorsorpredictorsoftheanticipatedperformanceofcoatedcompositewoodproductsduringexteriorexposure.Theymaybeusedfordevelopmentalevaluationofcoatings,substrates,orboth.Theymayalsobeusefulforqualitycontrolormonitoringoftheproductionofcoatedcompositewoodproducts.1.1Thistestmethodisintendedtoserveasameansformeasurementofliquidwaterthatpassesthroughawettedpaintfilm,andwhichissubsequentlyabsorbedandretainedbytheunderlyingwoodsubstrate.Alternativetechniquesfortheuseofthex201C;CobbRingx201D;apparatusaredescribed.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
