【摘要】:Saturatedhydraulicconductivitymeasurementsaremadeforavarietyofpurposesvaryingfromdesignoflandfillsandconstructionofclaylinerstoassessmentofirrigationsystems.Infiltrometersarecommonlyusedwhereinfiltrationorpercolationratesthroughasurfaceorsubsurfacelayeraredesired.Evaluationoftherateofwatermovementthroughapondlinerisoneexampleofthiskindofmeasurement.Penetrationofthelinerbyaboreholewouldinvalidatethemeasurementoflinerpermeability.Ithasbeennotedthatsmall-ringinfiltrometersaresubjecttoerrorduetolateraldivergenceofflow.Therefore,techniquesusingverylarge(1to2-mdiameter)infiltrationbasinshavebeenrecommendedformeasuringtheveryslowpercolationratestypicallyrequiredforclayliners.Theair-entrypermeametercanbeusedinsteadofinfiltrometerteststoavoidlateraldivergenceofflow.However,becauseacylindermustbedrivenintothemediatested,theactualsoilcolumntestedmaybedisruptedbyintroductionofthecylinder,especiallyinstructuredsoils.Boreholetestsfordeterminingsaturatedhydraulicconductivityareapplicableforevaluatingtherateofwatermovementthroughsubsurfacelayers.Forslowlypermeablelayers,anaccuratemethodofmeasuringtherateofwatermovementinto1.1Thisguidecoversareviewofthetestmethodsfordetermininghydraulicconductivityinunsaturatedsoilsandsediments.Testmethodsfordeterminingbothfield-saturatedandunsaturatedhydraulicconductivityaredescribed.1.2Measurementofhydraulicconductivityinthefieldisusedforestimatingtherateofwatermovementthroughclaylinerstodetermineiftheyareabarriertowaterflux,forcharacterizingwatermovementbelowwastedisposalsitestopredictcontaminantmovement,andtomeasureinfiltrationanddrainageinsoilsandsedimentforavarietyofapplications.Testmethodsareneededformeasuringhydraulicconductivityrangingfrom1x00D7;10x2212;2to1x00D7;10x2212;8cm/s,forbothsurfaceandsubsurfacelayers,andforbothfield-saturatedandunsaturatedflow.1.3Forthesefieldtestmethodsadistinctionmustbemadebetweenx201C;saturatedx201D;(Ks)andx201C;field-saturatedx201D;
